Designed to replace Halogen Tubes in outdoor floodlights, these cold cathode lights come on immediately at around 70% brightness and then quickly warm up to full power. The cold cathode design is capable of withstanding many and rapid switching operations for long term reliability and yet the power consumption is a fraction of that used in a halogen lamp and unlike Compact Flourescent Lamps which frankly aren't much use for floodlights because of the long startup time, are perfect for use in securty lights. The light output is the same as a 150w halogen yet it draws just 28w. The long life of this lamp means it's ideal to replace Halogen lamps especially where the fittings are mounted in ""hard to reach"" areas. The compact tube design means it should fit in any floodlight designed to take a standard 118mm halogen tube."
